Limestone Journeys

limestone boundaries - volunteers hedgelaying 2012

CVP is one of the key partners in the Limestone Journey project and one part of our role is to communicate funding opportunities out to the community and voluntary sector.

Limestone Journey Community Grants welcomes applications for original and exciting projects that help people look after, learn about and celebrate the Limestone Journey's landscape in an enjoyable and rewarding way. Heritage Lottery funding supports these opportunities. There are three types of funding opportunity for community groups;

  • Community Conservation grants for improving natural features, biodiversity and habitats. Key projects will be sought that create significant impact in each project year with a maximum annual award to an individual project of £10,000.
  • Community Landscape grants for improving local places and surroundings. Projects or activities that provide a sense of belonging, ownership and pride of place are encouraged. Projects will be awarded up to £5,000.
  • Community Interpretation and Information Grants that help understanding of the landscape and local heritage. Innovative ideas and ways to connect new users to landscape and heritage are strongly encouraged. Projects will be awarded a maximum of £5,000.

We are working with existing champions who have a particular interest in heritage, habitats and the environment. If you would like to be a champion visit www.creswell-crags.org.uk  to find out more about the Limestone Journey project.
