Volunteering...what is it all about?
Volunteering is something that everyone can do. Whether you are young or old, male or female, employed or unemployed, disabled or able bodied, no matter what your cultural background, faith or sexual orientation...volunteering is open to all.

Why people Volunteer?
Volunteering can help you:

  • Meet new people
  • Try something new
  • Gain practical experience
  • Improve you current skills
  • Learn new skills
  • Benefit your local community
  • Help in gaining employment
  • Build your C.V
  • Give you something to talk about at interviews
  • Have FUN

The Volunteer Centre staff are friendly and well informed about volunteering, we will give you as much information as possible so YOU can make an informed choice about the type of volunteering YOU wish to do, we do not match you with an organisation, nor do we force you to volunteer ...it is up to YOU, the choice is yours.

How can I make a difference?
You can make a difference to the issues you care about, your community, your environment, yourself, to society, to the world...just by giving a bit of your time.
The amount of time you give is up to you, it could be a couple of hours a week, half a day a week, or a full day, by talking it through with the organisation that you wish to volunteer with you can come up with a suitable arrangement for both of you.
